While this movie is not quite as well known as many other horror films, including its prequel Alien, it’s an interesting one to check out. It features all those classic themes of alien invasion so is a good one to add to your list.

4. American Nightmare

American Nightmare is a truly iconic horror film from the 1980s. If you haven’t seen it, this is a must-watch. This film is a standard-length hour and a half movie. Unlike many horror films, it’s actually based on a true story. The serial killer in this film targets prostitutes, and it was strongly influenced by rising rates of crime during the 1970s and 1980s.

5. Christine

This supernatural horror film is a classic from the 1980s, and it takes place during the 1950s at a Chrysler plant. This film features a demonically controlled vehicle, which is capable of driving itself.
